In the early 1960's my dad owned a Sinclair gas
station. At that time gas was 25.9 cents for regular gas and 29.9
cents for high test. I found this original Bennett pump at a car
show-swap meet and purchased it. The pump should make a great night
light. Now to find gas for under .30 cents a gallon. |
 |
As I was returning home with the Sinclair gas
pump, I stopped at a friends house to show him the pump. He
complimented me on the pump and asked if I new of anyone who would
like to buy a Mobil Flying Horse sign. A person that owned it had
moved and needed to sell the sign. I stated that I was interested
and would like to look at the sign. The sign was purchased on the
spot and transferred home. |

I have been in need of a small tractor to plow
the winter snow and to clear and mow the brush around my properties.
I purchased this Allis Chalmers at an estate auction. The tractor
had not been started for many years. After a few ours of cleaning,
adjusting, tinkering and a new battery, the tractor started for the
first time in many years. The reason for including the tractor in
the Corvette web site is:
|
 |
As I was transporting the tractor home I noticed
a large hanging sign post in front on an old home. I believe the
home was once an early gas station and converted to a home. The sign
octagonal style post looks like an original Mobilgas post I viewed
on the internet. The sign post measures 21'-9" in height and has a
sign arm of 9'-0". There is also two lights that project from the
sign arm to illuminate the sign. |
